Visit FileForums I also turned off the in-game FXAA and I am now forcing the NV FXAA and looks great. I been playing at 1440p downsample to 1080p (my monitors native resolution) and the game looks really nice, but now with the NV FXAA it looks much better. The NV control panel FXAA is MUCH better than the in-game one, It's a big improvement. I've tried the Reshade SMAA add to the in game FXAA and it worked but did very little.so I uninstalled it. I prefer fully maxed out settings and downsampled 1440p. I would have to turn down settings for that. I can run it in 4K but not at a locked 60fps in all areas. I downsample from 1440p and the jaggies and shimmering are tone down significantly. I own a nice 1080p monitor and I play at 1440p with everything maxed out on a 1080ti with FXAA. You can also run the game in 4K downsampled to 1080p but you need a 2080ti for that. If you have an Nvidia GPU you can easily use DSR and if you have a 1080p monitor (or even 1440p) you can run the game at 1440p downsampled to 1080p and it will give you a MASSIVE reduction in jaggies. However some may not like the added blur that FXAA naturally adds. You can clearly see a huge reduction in jaggies when you turn this setting on. Not only does it do a mediocre job at removing the jaggies it also cost like 20fps if you turn it on.įXAA on the other hand does indeed work and IMO it works very well. The problem with SSAA is also that it cost a TON of performance. ![]() SSAA does improve the jaggies but it still leaves much to be desired. When I turn this setting on the game looks super "jaggy" SSAA does work but not very good. The only one that actually works is FXAA (yeah that's funny lol). Sadly ROTTR's AA options are all kinda flawed. So in the future the best AA solution will be downsample from 4k + NVIDIA FXAA and maybe the ingame FXAA too. I have some kinda of "bad luck" with Reshade and I never see SMAA working good so I won't even tried the reshade in this game. Thank you so much, it seems that downsample it from 4k to 1080p helps much more than the 4xSSAA, but I don't have a GPU capable to run it at 4k60, thanks for the heads up, I used that NV FXAA on The Evil Within 1, another game that has low quality AA, and it works amazing well, though for TEW1 4k removes much more aliasing than in RoTR. So I DSR up to 1440 and add the NV FXAA.which is the best I can do. Yes you can force NV to add FXAA to 'enhance' the programs settings.this will add to the FXAA in the game.to be honest, I think the NV FXAA works better than the FXAA in game so I turn the in game setting off.also as I'm sure you know turning down 'detail'' will produce less grass and tree branches, which is where I most notice it.kind of a 'glitter' effect that i hate. As far as I know there is no way to add/force TAA or SGSSAA,
